About Us
The Sportsman has been providing the Cache Valley area with an extensive variety of all-season sporting goods since 1947. Originally established by Lucile and Jack Croft, the store aimed to attract a diverse crowd with a combination of hard goods such as skiing equipment, biking gear, and camping supplies, alongside soft goods like technical clothing and a distinctive selection of casual and formal wear. More and more we bring in products that are truly unique, such as clothing and equipment from Europe.
Today, Mark and Kristan Fjeldsted, the Crofts grandchildren, continue to offer a full range of sports merchandise to meet the active lifestyle needs of residents and outdoor enthusiasts in the Logan, Utah, community. The Fjeldsteds are always looking for innovative ways to update the shop (housed in a historic hotel building at 129 Main St.), to keep it fresh and modern, while maintaining the integrity of the architecture and its nostalgic presence.
As a family owned business with a long tradition of quality and service, we're genuinely interested in helping our customers find equipment, outerwear, and accessories that will keep them safe and comfortable as they enjoy their favorite seasonal activities. We evaluate and update our inventory as frequently as possible to make room for the industry's latest product releases. So check back with us often to see what's new!
Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have regarding outdoor sporting equipment, rentals, ski and bike tune-ups, or our Lucy and Croft clothing selection. Around here, our friendly, knowledgeable staff members are always on hand to offer expert product advice and personalized assistance.
Our Holiday hours are 9am-6pm on the days between Christmas and New Years. We will close at 5pm on New Years Eve.
